kW and kVA are often confused, but they represent different aspects of electrical power. kW is the real power that performs useful work, such as running motors or lighting bulbs. kVA, on the other hand, is the apparent power that includes both real power and reactive power. Reactive power is necessary for devices like transformers and motors to function but doesn’t contribute to useful work.
