Pictures and writing can tell you a lot. But they cannot tell you everything. I don\u2019t know how to convey the difference between simply seeing the photos below, and seeing the photos below on Aimee Sutherland\u2019s camera, sitting in a freezing cold car while a large group of water protectors sang and prayed for the Mississippi River outside. But there is a difference. And it felt big.
Chris Bullard was born and raised in Ardmore, OK, in a musical family that included his mother who sang in the church choir, and his grandpa Jack, a country singer who played in local bands for years. Bullard began his own musical journey at age 7 by learning to play the guitar. After his father's passing when Chris was 9, he began singing, finding his voice in the music of the church, helping him through that difficult time. By high school, Chris was singing in both school and church choirs, and after a couple years in college, he decided music was where his future layed.
Mitchell and Cameron are looking to adopt another baby, so they've been interviewing prospective moms about adopting their kids. It would help if Mitch didn't annoy these prospective mothers by correcting every last thing they say, no matter how much it needed to be corrected. But the mom they were interviewing was into feng shui with furniture...if she was Stevie Wonder. She found Cam's keyboard and Cam couldn't resist bragging they sang in a few choirs. The mom wanted to hear them sing because the father was a musician and she thought it would be good for the baby. They break out the Elton John, and it sounds like really bad karaoke, particularly to the mom. Although she thought Mitchell was great. Cam? A little pitchy.
RP: I started working at the Met 20 years ago. Originally, I was in the extra chorus before becoming full-time. I began my initial training and professional singing career while still in high school. I lived in Orlando Florida area where I sang for various groups at the local attractions. Disney, Universal etc. I also picked up church jobs and engagements with symphonies. While attending to my musical studies, both privately and academically, I became employed by Orlando Opera to sing in the chorus. At the age of 19, I performed my first opera with them and was given a small solo. After 3 years or so I came to New York and started working for City Opera, singing in the chorus, covering, and singing small roles. I did some solo work in regional houses. I did the Met chorus audition twice, and the second time, they hired me.
